Hello, sweet readers. In the foggy area of “technical” (to me) stuff, some of you have mentioned encountering difficulties when you try to leave a comment on my blog. (Heaven forbid!)
I did some checking and this is what I found out.
If you have (or had) a WordPress account and you’re not logged into it when you try to comment on my (WordPress) blog, be prepared to encounter a “pop up box” after you type in the usual name/e-mail/url. (This is similar to how FoodBuzz, Facebook — basically any “aggregate blog forum” that asks you to sign in to protect the innocent — keeps the bad guys out and the good guys in.)
What I’m asking you to do in the next couple of days is to fly a “test pattern” lest your thoughts end up in the The Land Of Missing Barbie Shoes.
(That’s where obliterated binary code ends up, don’tcha know?!)
Just type a BRIEF comment (Testing 1, 2, 3…?) or some other silly stuff that goes missing from time to time (car keys? jigsaw puzzle pieces?) – I don’t want you to labor over your keyboard, only to have your heartfelt comment vanish.
If you do get “the pop-up box,” just follow the prompts. If you’ve forgotten your WordPress password, you’ll have an opportunity to think up a new one. (And if you don’t encounter it, great!)
Don’t be alarmed… be appreciative. Fighting cyber crime is a full-time job.
Many thanks to you — and WordPress.
Enjoying security,
~ Kim
P.S. If all else fails, please leave a comment on my Facebook page. By the way, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke! I just wanted to be sure everything’s up and running for my giveaway later this week. :) Take care.

Finally! I can comment :) I think the problem was on my end though.

Thanks for responding, Heather! It’s frustrating when you spend time commenting and then it disappears (like Lego pieces or Hotwheels wheels — something you can probably identify with, with your boys!) :)

I can log in with twitter and it works I think. :)

Thanks for the tip, Maureen! The Happiness Engineers at WP said you can also log in with an e-mail address that isn’t tied to WP, if you have a “spare!”

Of course that last one went through just fine. (2 of my “testing…” comments didn’t go through)

Lol, Nolita! It’s like going to the doctor and miraculously feeling better in the waiting room, eh? Thanks for your persistence!

I am not a fan of this new commenting thing that wp has…I understand the security issue but there has to be an easier way ;)
Land of Barbie shoes made me laugh!

When I saw your header, I was wondering what the talented Kimby is up to again this time. So it’s a real test! Hahaha!
So far, I’ve no issues since the last one I “reported” to u. But then again, mine’s from Bloggers & not WordPress. If this goes thru & u see my comment, then it’s as smooth as silk :)

Dear Kimby
I think I had that problem before and it seems to be solved. So, testing 1,2, 3 ….
