To start, I wash and cut the meat into small pieces. Personally, I advise you to take pork – tender, soft and juicy meat is great for potatoes. Then I sprinkle with fresh herbs, seasonings and herbs, salt and lightly pepper.
Potatoes can be peeled and sliced while the meat absorbs seasonings. A little secret – before cooking, I always wash the potatoes under running water – this will wash out excess starch. And while the potatoes are being washed, you can start cooking meat. It needs to be fried over medium heat in a small amount of oil. 5-10 minutes is enough.
Then I add potatoes to the same pan and fry the mixture. By the way. This time I'm cutting bigger potatoes: large rings or half rings, thick enough.
If the potatoes and meat are sufficiently fried, it's time to spread the rest of the ingredients. I usually put them in this order: tomatoes, cut into half rings, finely chopped onions. Thickly smeared with sour cream or mayonnaise – whatever is in the refrigerator. And on top - a solid layer of cheese and a little greenery.
All this can be covered with a lid and then fried on the stove. But I cover it with a sheet of foil and put it in the oven for a few minutes. As soon as the cheese melts, the potatoes fried with meat are ready. The food turns out to be so satisfying that a couple of small pieces are enough that you don't want to eat until tomorrow, believe me!
