Coffee or Chocolate?

It’s no secret that my life revolves around two main ingredients… coffee and chocolate.  It’s also no secret that it’s better to give than to receive!

In celebration of my first blog birthday/anniversary/blogiversary, I’m delighted to give something to you.  (Well, at least two of you!)

But first, a word from our sponsor…

Brought to you by… Steel Daffodils Cottage & Garden.

My friend/shop-owner/barista, Tammy, offered to donate a bag of Oklahoma’s finest java to the cause.  (Thank you, Tammy!)  Perhaps you didn’t know Oklahoma is a purveryor of fine coffees?  Yup.  Custom-roasted right here in the Sooner State.

(Excuse me, I got so excited about the coffee, I couldn’t hold my camera straight!)

Or… maybe I need to become a decaffeinated connoisseur? :)  If decaf is your cup of tea (or coffee!) there’s “Homestead Coffee” whose motto is: “It’s good to settle down.”

Whether you choose Statehood, Cattledrive, or Homestead, it’s Oklahoma coffee!

And then there’s the other love of my life… chocolate in any way, shape, or form!

You may remember my birthday cake from this post.

Chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate!  Sigh.

So.. which do you prefer — coffee or chocolate?

(Two giveaway winners will receive one or the other!)

I’m leaning towards both… :)

To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment below.  For an extra chance to win, please click “like” on the handy-dandy Facebook widget in my sidebar and say so, or tell me you’ve already “liked” me in your comment — no need to comment twice.  (Basically, one comment per person covers the whole she-bang.)  You may also comment on my Facebook page if you prefer.  Glad to see you at either place!

The winners will be picked out of a hat by The Man Of Few Words.  (Trust me, he’s impartial — and yes, I will write out two slips for every comment with a “like!”)  Winners will be notified the week of April 9th or as soon as humanly possible after the deadline.  Oh yeah, the deadline!  This giveaway ends at midnight CST April 9, 2012.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tina from flourtrader and Missy of Guns, Grub, and Other Goodies on winning the giveaway.  Thanks to all who entered!

That’s pretty much it, except to say thank you for a wonderful year!

Enjoying coffee AND chocolate,

~ Kim

  5. “liked” ya, LOVE the she bang part and tough choice between choc and coffee… both isn’t the right answer!? if it’s either or, than choc… (And is the giveaway over?)

    • Heidi, I think “both” is a great answer (that was my answer, too!) :) and I appreciate your stopping by. The giveaway ended at midnight April 9th (see the inevitable fine print” on that post) but don’t give up hope… :)

  6. WOW! Coffee AND chocolate these are two of the best things in life not to mention I believe could be used as tools to create world peace! I am headed to your fB page now to go over and give it some LOVE! What an amazing contest you’re hosting!

    • Nasrine, I can picture you implementing world peace over a cup of coffee with chocolate by your side! They’re great “tools” for inspiring writing, and housework, and daily life, and … and… too! :)

  7. Oh, I must say I like coffee WITH chocolate. I mean, not chocolate-flavored coffee (although a good mocha for a treat every now and then is quite delish!), but a cup of coffee with a bit of chocolate cake after dinner? HEAVEN.

And, I’ve tasted Sue Ann’s insanely delicious clusters and can vouch for the fact that this is one SWEET giveaway! Thank you for the contest Kim! I’ve already liked your Facebook page, but I still like it… a lot (and YOU too!). :-) xo

    • Helen, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your “mocha flavored thoughts!” :) Coffee with chocolate cake? I’m THERE! SOOOOO beyond words. (Even for me, lol!) Thanks for “liking” me, too. :)

  8. Dear Kimby,

Congrats on your first blogiversary! Looks like we started around the same time as it’s our first blogiversary today too! The air around us must have been inspiring a year ago.

    • ChopinandMysaucepan, it was a pleasure visiting your blog to see the blogiversary celebration in progress. Congrats to you, too! You’re right… something’s in the air. :)

  9. Ooooh…between coffee and chocolate, it’s hard to choose, but I will say that I consume FAR more coffee. Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I’m going to have to track this coffee down :)

    • Hi, Elizabeth! That IS a tough choice, now that I think about it… and you’re right about coffee consumption exceeding chocolate, lol. (How can that BE?!) Thanks for entering my giveaway!

  10. WooHoo! Congrats on the anniversary/birthday (liked/shared your fb page)! I’m glad I found you! Wishing you a blessed Easter!

  11. I just wanted to say that seeing “Oklahoma coffee” made me smile. I just moved from Oklahoma to Kentucky (I got married in December and we moved for his school) and I am missing my Okies. Great giveaway and it would make my day to get some Oklahoma coffee 1000 miles away.

(and I liked you on FB)

  12. Happy Bloggyversary!!
Didn’t realise you were on facebook … LIKE! (You already know that)
And do I have to choose? Don’t make me choose!! Aaarrgghhh!!! Don’t care! I like both coffee AND chocolate … let’s just say Mocha. Howzat?
(Just wanna say it’s alright if your giveaway doesn’t cover this end of the world … I like anyway)

  13. CHOCOLATES for me pleeeeeeeeese! Yum! I’m not a coffee drinker & when Nespresso offered me their coffee machine for a 2-week trial review recently, I turned them down w/o second thoughts. After that, I got so much “lectures” & “scoldings” from my coffee addict friends as they’re all dying to try out the award-winning machine & their coffee. Hahaha! Call me silly or what!

Kimby, u know I’ve stalked u for a long time. I’ve “liked”, love, love! Happy Anniversary to your awesome blog, dear! Glad we’re connected :) Thank u so much for all your wonderful support & comments on my product reviews & recipes! They really mean a lot :) Happy Blogging!

  14. Your giveaway is most generous my friend – though I am not entering since as always I am in Aus ;)
I just stopped by to agree with you – chocolate+ coffee = stolen my heart :D

    Choc Chip Uru

    • Awww, my sweet Aussie friend… neither snow, nor rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night, nor international shipping address dissuades me from entering you into the aforementioned giveaway. I used to ship food ingredients ’round the world (back in my food industry days) — never let a “foreign address” daunt ya, is my credo. Consider yourself entered!!! :)

  15. Chocolate. Most definitely!

I am so excited you are a part of this wonderful blogging world. You are such a gift sweet Kimby. <3 The way you encourage and love…it is beautiful.

    • Tina, I hope you’ll check out my links re: The Cluster. Lol, I ordered two tins… one for me, and one for the giveaway. However, thanks to the comment-leaving delay ( ), I’m four clusters away from breaking into the “giveaway” tin! (I’ll ship it direct from the source, so it’ll be fresh — and un-fingerprinted — ha!) Thanks for entering my giveaway.

    • Chris, I love your “thoughtless” comment — maybe because I feel the same way. Coffee is part of my DNA… chocolate is a choice! :) Thanks for commenting and best of luck to you!

  16. Congratulations on your blogiversary!

I enjoy my coffee a lot, but I can’t have much caffeine anymore (boo! hiss!) so I only brew decaf and I don’t bother to make it for myself every day. Chocolate, on the other hand, is vital to my existence. :) I’m still dreaming about that delicious chocolate cake you wrote about not long ago.

    • Shary, I sooooo hear ya on your caffeine vs. what’s better for me choice. Accolades to you for recognizing what YOU need. :) I love your phrase (and I quote you): “Chocolate, on the other hand, is vital to my existence.” :)
