Leave it to my home state to roll out the white carpet for me.
Within hours of my arrival in Minnesota, it snowed.
Four days in a row.
No complaints. Â Mother Nature’s sense of humor amuses me.
It’s just that I’m not used to scraping my windshield.
In April.
Although the weather outside was frightful, the warmth inside was delightful.
Laughter, memories, food… and lots of it.
Family stuff. xo
Unexpected chills make you appreciate warmth.
Safe havens cause you to count your blessings.
And snow can be fun. Â (Yes, fun.)
You can take the girl out of Minnesota…
Many thanks for your love and support during my recent trip.
I’m looking forward to catching up with you soon!
In the meantime, it’s great to be home again. Â Ahhh…
Enjoying a lil’ Spring in my step,
~Kimby
P.S. Â Snowmen are best enjoyed with a cup of coffee… :)
Dear Kimby,
I would love to live in a city where it snows like this. I find it so beautiful and contrary to most people I love cold climate, the colder the better and I will happily cook some awesome winter stews with a glass of red in hand and perhaps some nostalgic Ella Fitzgerald numbers in the background.
Hahahaha! I love that snowman came inside. :D It’s going to be close to 80F here, and I just realized that this year we didn’t take the kids to play with the snow (4 hrs drive northeast). They would love to even touch the snowman you have. :)
Nami, my family said it’s still snowing there — if I could ship your kids some, I would! :)
As it never snows in India, snowfall is always related to happiness, enjoyment and fun for us! Lovely article… I loved your cute snowman!

Purabi, I hope I didn’t sound like I was complaining. I’m just incredulous that MN is *still* getting snow! Not a typical winter (or Spring) there. I like your attitude towards snow and will remember that next time I go to MN! You’re a gem.
LOL I remember windshields thick with ice, doors that wouldn’t open, frozen slush. and not in a fond way :) I love living where it’s warm.
I second that, Maureen! ;) Don’t miss it one bit!
I never thought that I would say that but I wish I was sitting in the snow now instead of perspiring my last fluids out in this eternal summer season sauna. lol At least your pictures helped me to cool down a bit. Thanks Kim =)
Helene, our “sauna season” is just around the corner. (Average temp 110 last summer!) Thanks for reminding me to keep these snowman pictures handy. :) Hope you get some relief from the heat soon!
Aw, so glad you could make it home, even if the weather wasn’t exactly “heartwarming”-lol! Love your cute little snowman-he’s adorbs! Enjoy your time with family!
Veronica, every precious minute with family (my Dad especially, with his terminal cancer) is a blessing. Snow will come and go, but time with loved ones is what matters most. xo
Mother nature didn’t get the memo that its spring. :-)
Lol, so true, Christine!
Aw, I love the cute mini snowman! I guess I won’t complain about our torrential rains this week…it could be worse!!!
Liz, I’ll take rain over snow any day, but I have to admit it was fun making a snowman in April. ;) It rained a lot here while I was gone — the lake rose 5 or 6 feet!
Welcome home, pretty girl…these Mother Nature funnies w/the weather sure put us in our place and let us know, there’s a higher source there that’s in control…glad to see you back safe and sound, and loved seeing this in my email !! xox Ally
Ally, you have no idea how much I rely on that Source to get me there and back in one piece. Torrential rains all the way, except thru KC — bone dry both ways! Tell me it wasn’t planned that way… :) xo
What did one snowman say to the other? Do you smell carrots??
Too funny, Marian! My lil’ snowman was a small “surprise” for my folks — not much bigger than a bunch of carrots! :)
Awww I love your gorgeous photos, how I wish it snowed in Australia :D
Cheers
CCU
Uru, if I could send you some, I would. :) I’m just glad it’s Spring here — autumn for you — there’s something to enjoy about every season!
I love your pictures! WOW! Nice snow man too ;) Have a nice return home!
Isabelle, the joke’s on me… our temps dropped to the 50’s last night, lol! (But it didn’t snow…)
I was just in Minnesota a few weeks ago visiting my family and couldn’t believe how much snow there was in March!
Lindsey, I made it home before the next snowfall — they’re getting 6″ more tonight!
