My kids’ n’ I finally got within hugging distance last week. I’ve traveled to see each of them (separately) and they’ve seen each other in between, but this was the first time we’d been together in three years!
These photos were snapped outside Four Daughters Winery. The food and wine were fantastic, as always! I ordered three dishes to share: Baked Brie & Garlic with Pecan Pesto & Seasonal Berries on Grilled Focaccia; Smoked Chicken Flatbread with Shitake Mushrooms, Roasted Tomatoes, & Freshly Grated Mozzarella; and Crab Rangoon Flatbread. Oh, and Smoked Brisket Tacos with blue corn tortillas for me. :)
Enjoying Proud Mama moments,
~ Kim
How lovely to have the family together… special times Kim :)
You all look so happy together! I am smiling just thinking about it.
Fabulous family shot, Kimby! Wow, your kids are all grown up; lucky you! xoxo
Thanks, Shirley! It’s hard to believe they’re grown-ups already, but your “young ‘un” is a wonderful young man, too. Time is sneaking up on us Mamas! :) xoxo
Loving this! Happy for you you! Beautiful family!
Christine, I seldom post “personal” photos, but I’m glad I did these. The outpouring of LOVE and happiness (including yours) that resulted added to my joy. And memories. xo
Love this! It’s so beautiful, and I know the feeling all too well, so hard to get the adult “kids” together at one time! Makes my heart happy for you Kim!
Mary, thanks much! Yup, adult “kids” are hard to pin down, especially with the three of us living umpteen states apart. (Sounds like you’re dealing with the same “global” reality in your family.) My heart is still happy, xo.
Nothing warms my heart more than seeing these pictures, my dear Kimmeeee! OMG, you have beautiful youngens, and, frankly, you look like the sister, not mama! I know the exhilaration and love you were feeling. The food and winery secondary…dang, y’all coulda been in a truck stop and you couldn’t have beamed more. Love you kiddo!!!
Ally, I’m flattered — thank you — and I loved your truck stop analogy. You truly know me. (Love you, too!) Had to smile about our “height” in these photos — my son towers over me (6’2″) and my daughter is an inch shorter, but she was wearing stilettos! I stood up a step and they still outranked me. :) But, “Mama love” equalizes everything, right?
you are blessed.
Indeed I was… and am! Thanks, Carol!
Marvelous. I rejoice with you.
Rejoice is the apt word for that weekend, Sister Ruth! (Marvelous, too!) Love you.
