Smoked Salmon Roll Ups II

I haven’t made or written anything noteworthy in a long while (apologies…), but a recent kitchen inspiration sparked a marriage proposal.

After assembling my Smoked Salmon Roll Ups in “mini-bite” form (hence II), I toted them to a friendly gathering. One fellow took a bite of the creamy goat cheese filling laced with fresh dill, lemon zest, a squeeze of lemon juice, capers, and freshly ground black pepper, ate six more (two at a time!) and asked: “Will you marry me?”

I grinned and said: “No, but I’ll cater.” :)

His lovely, life-long wife (nearby) grinned, too. I love sharing food and smiles!

    • Shirley, life’s been pretty sedate lately, but this incident tickled me enough to “share” (particularly because it included smoked salmon, lol!) — I was just telling my son about you yesterday (what a wonderful online friend you’ve been throughout the years, what different worlds we live in, etc., but how much we appreciate each other’s perspectives) and it’s always a delight to hear from you, xo. Thank you!

  1. I could eat a few of those right now! I hope your life is getting more evened out and you’ll soon be able to blog when you like.
