Cooking method

Step 1:
Gather your ingredients.

Rinse the beef, pat it dry, and cut it into small pieces.

Brown the meat in vegetable oil in a skillet until golden. Season with salt near the end.

Sprinkle in the flour and stir well.

Step 5:
Add the paprika, allspice, and bay leaf to the pan.

Step 6:
Pour in the wine and top up with hot water until the meat is just covered. Braise the beef over low heat, covered, for about an hour, until tender.

Step 7:
Press the garlic through a garlic press.

Step 8:
Add the tomato paste and garlic to the pan. Stir and simmer another 2–3 minutes.
