Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Apple jam for dessert can be used ready-made or made by yourself from fresh apples, which turns out quite simply and quickly with a blender. Apples are cleaned, cut and cooked on the stove with a small amount of sugar for about 25 minutes.
Step 2:
Grind the boiled apples with a blender to a puree state.
Step 3:
Prepare shortbread dough for cakes. The ingredients will always be found in the refrigerator of caring housewives. In a deep bowl, put the butter softened at room temperature. If there is no time to wait for the butter to soften in natural conditions, you can melt it in the microwave.
Step 4:
Add sugar, salt, vanilla, beat in two chicken eggs. Using a blender or mixer, stir the ingredients until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
Step 5:
Pour the sifted wheat flour combined with baking powder into a bowl with the mixture. Instead of baking powder, you can use soda on the tip of a knife, quenched with vinegar. Such a replacement of the baking powder we are used to arose precisely in Soviet times, when there was a shortage of products, and our savvy mothers used what was at hand. And in principle, soda and vinegar quite cope with the task set before them.
Step 6:
Mix the ingredients with a mixer or a spatula, knead an elastic and smooth dough. It is impossible to knead the shortbread dough for a long time, otherwise it can become hard, and the products from it are tasteless. We wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Step 7:
Divide the cooled shortbread dough into two or three parts, depending on the size of the baking dish. We roll out each of them into a layer no more than 1 cm thick. Spread the dough on a greased baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes at a temperature of 220 degrees.
Step 8:
Let the finished cakes cool down a little, carefully cut off the edges of the dough so that the cakes turn out smooth and beautiful. Scraps are crushed in a coffee grinder or with a rolling pin to the state of crumbs.
Step 9:
Lubricate the first cake with apple jam. We put the second cake on top, we also lubricate it with apple jam and sprinkle it with sand crumbs.
Step 10:
Let the workpiece cool and soak in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. then we cut it into rectangular pieces. The cakes are ready, we serve them to the table with tea or coffee. Enjoy your meal!
