Step 1:
How to make cabbage rolls from Peking cabbage with minced meat and rice? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can take the upper green leaves from the Peking cabbage, they are larger. But I don't really like the color of the finished cabbage rolls, so I prefer the inner pale leaves. In addition, with them, cabbage rolls turn out to be more miniature. I also add fried mushrooms to the filling, although they are not in the recipe itself. This is only optional.
Step 2:
Prepare the rice first. Steamed rice is best suited for cabbage rolls, it remains dense and holds its shape well. Rinse the rice thoroughly in warm running water until transparent. Pour water into a saucepan, add salt and boil the rice for 10 minutes until half cooked. Put the rice in a colander and rinse with cold water. Let it drain completely.
Step 3:
Put the minced meat in a bowl. For cabbage rolls, it is best to take minced meat from pork and beef in equal proportions. Peel the carrots, wash them and grate them on a fine grater. Add to the bowl with minced meat, season with salt and pepper.
Step 4:
Put the boiled rice in a bowl.
Step 5:
Mix everything well. If the minced meat is very dense, add a little cold water.
Step 6:
Disassemble the Peking cabbage into leaves and cut off the narrow lower part, it will be needed later. Put the leaves in a bowl and pour hot water for 5 minutes. This will make the leaves soft. Drain and dry.
Step 7:
Spread out the Peking cabbage leaf and put some of the minced meat.
Step 8:
Wrap the minced meat in a sheet, giving the shape of cabbage rolls.
Step 9:
Cut the lower part of the cabbage into strips and put it on the bottom of the pan. It will serve as a pillow between the iron and cabbage rolls so that they do not burn. Place the cabbage rolls on the chopped cabbage.
Step 10:
Pour water into a bowl, add sour cream, mix tomato sauce. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 11:
Pour the cabbage rolls with the resulting sauce. It should almost completely cover the cabbage rolls.
Step 12:
Put a pot of cabbage rolls on medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, close the lid and cook for one hour.
Step 13:
Remove the cabbage rolls from the heat, spread them out and immediately serve them on the table with sour cream and herbs.
