Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 2 d
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook apple jam through a meat grinder? Apples are suitable for both sweet and sour-sweet. Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the taste of apples. If the apples are sour, take 1.5-1.8 kg of sugar. Please note that the weight of the apples is taken already in the peeled form.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the apples thoroughly, dry them, clean them from seeds and tails.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pass the apples through a meat grinder with a fine grate. If there is an electrical assistant, the process will go much faster.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

To cook the jam, choose a suitable-sized saucepan. Aluminum is not suitable, since the acids contained in apples will negatively affect the metal. Put the chopped apples in a saucepan.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add sugar to the apples, mix.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Leave the apple mass at room temperature for 1 hour so that the sugar dissolves. To speed up the process, you can mix the mass a couple of times.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put the pan on the fire, bring to a boil. Cook over moderate heat for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. The jam will turn light brown and only slightly thicken. Remove the pan from the heat, leave at room temperature for 10-12 hours.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then boil the jam for another 25 minutes from the moment of boiling. During cooking, the apple mass will thicken, so do not forget to stir so that the jam does not burn. The color of the jam will become darker. Leave the jam at room temperature for another 10-12 hours.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

The cooled jam should have a stable, thick consistency. If it is still dripping from the spoon, boil the jam again to the desired density and cool.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Wash the jars, sterilize them in a convenient way: in the microwave or steamed. The lids also need to be boiled. Fill the dry jars with jam and seal tightly. Store the workpiece in a dark, cool place.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

From this proportion of ingredients, I got 2.1 liters of jam. Have a good harvest!

Apple jam can also be used as a filling for any sweet pastry. It will turn out very tasty!

If the storage temperature of the workpiece is not cool enough, take the amount of apples and sugar in a ratio of 1:1.

Follow the basic rules of conservation so that your billet is stored for a long time and without problems:
- wash the apples thoroughly
- remove any debris, dirt, earth from the fruits
- get rid of rotten areas on fruits
- do not reduce the amount of preservatives and follow the tips described in the recipe
- sterilize empty cans (10 minutes - 0.5 liters; 15 minutes - 1 liter; 20 minutes - 2 liters; 25 minutes - 3 liters), boil the lids for 10 minutes
- when rolling up cans with a seaming machine, make sure that the lids fit tightly to the jar
- turn the jars upside down to check the quality of the twist
