As it turns out, pears make every bit as good a base for compote as apples do! Pear compote is one of my favorite drinks—so refreshing.

  • Cut the pears, removing the cores. Drop the fruit into a pot of boiling water. Add as much sugar as you like, along with citric acid to taste. Cooking the pear compote takes just 15 minutes. Quick, isn't it? With minimal effort, you've got yourself a sweet, refreshing drink.
