- Let's get started with the fruit. Remove the large pits from the plums. Cut up the orange without peeling it, and be sure to take out any seeds as well. Grind both the plums and the orange through a meat grinder—an easier option is a blender, if you have one. Combine the ground orange-and-plum mixture with the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves, ideally warming the mixture as you go. Spoon the warm jam into sterilized jars, screw the lids on tightly, and keep them in a dark, cool spot.
