Sea buckthorn berries are very popular with gardeners, as they contain a huge amount of biologically active substances. Sea buckthorn is widely used in folk medicine. But also in the form of jam, sea buckthorn is extremely tasty. I recently visited my former class teacher and during nostalgic memories, sea buckthorn jam with apples appeared on the table. I tried it and asked for a recipe. I don't regret it at all. And that I went to visit, and that I added a new entry to the piggy bank of recipes about food.
Sea buckthorn fruits are sorted, the stems are cut off, washed with cold water and dried on a cloth.
Rub the berries through a fine sieve and cover with sugar. Take care of the apples separately. Wash, get rid of the core and simmer in a saucepan with a glass of water for 15 minutes. Apples will soften and they can also be rubbed through a sieve or crushed in a blender. Mix both purees and bring them on the stove to a temperature of 70 degrees.
Wash the jars and heat-treat them. Put the jam in dry hot jars, cover with canning lids and sterilize 0.5 liter jars for 20 minutes and half an hour liter jars.
Take it out and roll it up.
With this method of cooking, the nutrients and vitamins in sea buckthorn will not be destroyed. You will get a delicious and healthy jam.
