The forest gives people gifts all year round: mushrooms, berries, medicinal herbs, delicious spring juice, fragrant flowers. In the swamps and in the lowlands you can find a wonderful berry – cranberries. It has long been known for its beneficial properties. There are many recipes for wonderful fruit drinks, compotes, jellies and jams.
Relatives from the north recently gave me a parcel with a bright large berry. The package contains a note with a recipe for cranberry jam. If you are also lucky enough to buy this useful berry and want to make jam from it, I will be happy to share a culinary recipe.
Prepare all the parts of the jam to assemble it into the final product. First, rinse the berries with running water, discard all crumpled, rotten ones so that they do not spoil the product. We don't need the smell of mold. Cook sugar syrup from water and sugar. Put the cranberries in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, this is called blanching. Boil until tender. The jam is ready when a drop of it does not spread over the saucer. Nuts should be boiled in water for half an hour and crushed. Put the chopped nuts in the jam for 10 minutes until ready.
Put it in jars and store it in a cool place.
Nuts will give the jam an interesting taste and aroma.
