Cooking method
- These honey flatbreads are a hearty, delicious treat that's perfect for breakfast or as a dessert with tea. I saw the recipe on TV once and have been making it for my family ever since. First, make the dough: put the honey and salt in a bowl, pour in half a cup of warm water, and stir well. Then, stirring constantly, add the egg first, then the flour with the baking powder, and finally the sesame seeds toasted in a dry skillet. Knead the mixture into a dough, roll it into a log, and cut it into pieces about 1 1/2 inches long. Roll each piece out into a small flatbread and cook it in a skillet with heated oil. For the syrup, heat the sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar fully dissolves, let it cool slightly, then dip the flatbreads in one at a time. Pressing them gently as you dip helps them soak up more syrup and taste even better. That's it — a delicious tea-time dessert that also works as a full breakfast. Absolutely finger-licking good!
