Remember that the water should not be hot, otherwise the yeast will die. 37-38 degrees is the optimal temperature, it feels pleasantly warm to the touch. After the prescribed time, such a cap should rise on the surface - this means that the yeast has woken up and is ready to work. Otherwise, you will have to take others.

    Add salt, butter and sifted flour to the water with yeast. Knead the dough first with a fork, then with your hands. If it seems that the dough is too steep, add more warm water.

    In the middle of the kneading, put the fried onion in the dough.

    Continue kneading the dough until smooth. It won't be as sticky as it was at the beginning. Assemble the dough into a ball.

The bread turned out very tasty! Soft, airy, crisp crust. But the main thing is the onion flavor, very appetizing!
When baking, the top of the bun turned red very quickly, so I covered it with foil and baked it the right time.
