Celery and Apple Smoothie for Weight Loss
A classic combination of celery and apple with the freshness of cucumber. It fills you with energy and vigor, aids digestion, lifts your mood, and curbs hunger — which is why it features in so many diets: it helps with weight loss, improves your complexion, stabilizes blood sugar, speeds hair growth, and strengthens nails. All of which I wish for you too!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather all the ingredients. Wash and dry the apples, lemon, and cucumber. Trim the celery, removing the root end and leaves.
-
Step 2:
Finely chop the celery. Peel the cucumber; peel and core the apples and cut them into small pieces; halve the lemon and squeeze the juice from one half.
-
Step 3:
Put everything in the blender, pour in the water, and add the lemon juice. Blend for 30–40 seconds until smooth. If you like, add salt and your favorite spices.
-
Step 4:
It's best not to drink this first thing in the morning, since a still-sleepy digestive tract won't handle the smoothie well. It works better as a mid-morning snack.
-
Step 5:
Garnish the glass with a sprig of mint and dig in. A smoothie can rightly be called both a drink and a dish — it's rich in vitamins, fiber, and nutrients.
- Celery doesn't just burn fat effectively; it benefits the whole body. The proteins, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals it contains help renew cells and tissues and slow the aging process. It has a calming effect, which is why it's used to help with nervous conditions and stress. The essential oils and B, C, K, and E vitamins in its roots and stalks help sort out digestive troubles and are used in managing diabetes and pancreatitis. And because celery speeds up the body's water-salt balance, it's often included in older adults' diets. The roots boost physical and mental stamina, have an antiseptic effect, tone the body, and discourage fat from being stored. Celery is also well known as a diuretic, which makes it valuable for supporting the stomach, kidneys, liver, and bladder.
