- Looking at the photo, I just want to grab a knife and fork, cut these lemony scallops into pieces, and dig right in. Of course, to get there you have to cook them first. There's really nothing difficult about this recipe—it takes no more than 15 minutes, plus chilling time. Scallop meat actually tastes a lot like crab, but it takes on a special flavor when you serve it with lemon. Take a saucepan, fill it with water, bring it to a boil, and add salt. Then drop the scallop meat into the boiling water and add the pepper. Cook it all for about 10 minutes, then set it aside to cool. Once cooled, slice the scallops thin and arrange them on a plate. Then take the lemon, cut it into neat rounds, and lay them around the scallops to make the dish look pretty. Enjoy. Besides lemon, you can also serve the scallops with tomatoes, a green salad, sweet peppers, and pickled or fresh cucumbers—whatever you like. Bon appétit once more. Scallops are not only delicious but good for you, too, since they're rich in nutrients: scallop meat contains iodine, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, sulfur, sodium, calcium, manganese, and zinc.
