Cooking method
Stuffed mussels are a typical representative of southern Italian cuisine. This food is presented in Italy in a huge number of recipe options. Let's consider one culinary recipe, the most affordable and the most popular.
To begin with, we will thoroughly rinse in running water and clean the mussels. I recommend removing the sharp edges on the sinks with a knife.
Chop garlic and herbs and grind Parmesan cheese.
Turn on the oven so that it warms up to a temperature of about 300 degrees.
In the meantime, we will need a large pot of water. We will put it on the stove and lower the mussels into the water. Bring to a boil and cook for a few minutes. In boiling water, the mussels will begin to open. We catch the opened mussels with a slotted spoon and put them in a plate.
Then, for each clam, you need to break off one of the shell flaps, and leave the second one as it is. I.e., the mussel should remain in one of the halves.
Mix cheese, breadcrumbs, finely chopped garlic and parsley, oil, salt and pepper in a separate saucepan. Heat over low heat until the whole mixture becomes soft and viscous. Stir the mixture and set aside from the heat.
Put the mussels on a baking sheet and fill each half with a mixture from a saucepan. Next, bake the mussels in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the filler in them turns golden and is covered with a crust.
Stuffed mussels are ready. It is recommended to serve this dish hot on the table.
