Oatmeal Cooked in Water (for Weight Loss)

Make a great breakfast and stay in shape! After the holidays I usually put on a couple of extra pounds, so I like to give myself some light "reset" days. It's not exactly a diet, but it still helps shed the unwanted weight. The dish in question is oatmeal: cook it in water and eat it for breakfast, and you'll feel full for hours. Shall we lose a little weight together?

  • Rinse the oat groats thoroughly in cold water. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan and salt it lightly. Add the rinsed groats, pour in the water, and cook over low heat for 30–40 minutes, skimming off any foam as it cooks. Sweeten the finished oatmeal with honey if you like (it's just as good without). Eat well and stay in shape!
