Cabbage Salad with Vinegar and Oil

A light, delicious salad made with young cabbage. Young cabbage has juicy, crisp leaves, so the salad turns out fresh and nourishing. Olive oil is ideal, but if you prefer sunflower oil, go right ahead. Apple cider vinegar adds freshness and a tangy note; if you don't have any, make the dressing with distilled white vinegar. Salt and pepper to taste. If you like dried herbs, feel free to add a few pinches to the dressing. The salad is very easy to make - even a beginner can handle it. Enjoy!

    Step 1

Let's gather a few simple ingredients for the salad. Use as much onion, dill, and parsley as you like. I recommend olive oil, though you can use vegetable oil if you prefer. Apple cider vinegar suits this salad beautifully; if you don't have any, distilled white vinegar works fine. Rinse and dry the herbs.

If you like, you can add a fresh cucumber to the salad, though that makes it a different dish. Cabbage salad is my favorite springtime dish. Enjoy!

  • This salad works as an appetizer, and with a slice of dark rye bread it's simply wonderful. Serve it alongside grilled meat and all your guests will be thrilled! Fresh onion, dill, and parsley give it a bright, fresh aroma. If you like unrefined vegetable oil, you can base the dressing on it for a more pronounced flavor. You can add a fresh cucumber or tomato to taste - but then it becomes a completely different salad. A fresh young-cabbage salad with oil and vinegar is a classic! Enjoy!
