Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the ingredients for the pies. Pour a glass of warm milk and a glass of warm water into a bowl. Add sugar, a tablespoon of wheat flour. Stir the mixture so that the sugar dissolves. Pour in the dry yeast and mix again so that the dry yeast will disperse.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Yeast loves a warm and sweet environment, so if the products are of high quality, everything is done correctly, the yeast should be activated. To do this, we put the bowl with the yeast mixture in a warm place for 15 minutes, there is no need to cover the bowl with anything on top. Foam should form on the surface of the mixture.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour vegetable oil and salt into a bowl with yeast mixture. Stir the mixture.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour the sifted wheat flour in parts. Flour must be sifted to enrich it with oxygen, this contributes to obtaining a fluffy dough and soft delicious pastries. You need to add flour in parts so that the dough does not turn out to be too liquid or, conversely, tight.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Every time after adding flour, mix the dough with a wooden spatula. When the dough becomes difficult to knead with a spatula, we spread it on the work surface sprinkled with flour and continue kneading.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The dough should turn out smooth and elastic, practically not sticking to the hands. We put the dough back into the bowl, tighten the bowl with cling film on top and put it in a warm place for 40 minutes. Then we knead the dough and you can immediately proceed to the preparation of pies.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

While the dough is standing, we will prepare the filling. Minced meat can be used as a filling. Minced meat can be wound independently from fresh meat or purchased ready-made. In a bowl with minced meat, add finely chopped onion, salt and ground black pepper to taste, if the mass is too thick, pour in a little cold water. Knead the minced meat so that it becomes homogeneous in consistency.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Divide the finished dough into 15 pieces. We roll out each piece into a small cake. In the center of each tortilla we put a little minced meat, fasten the edges of the dough, form pies.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put the pies on a greased baking sheet, put it in a warm place for 15 minutes, let the pies rise. Grease the pies with beaten chicken egg on top and send them to the oven for 30 minutes at about 180C. We take the pies out of the oven, remove them from the baking sheet, serve them to the table with tea, coffee or cocoa. Have a nice tea party!
