Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make skewers of Brussels sprouts with bacon in a frying pan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I have frozen Brussels sprouts. I defrosted it beforehand and threw it into a colander. There is no need for excess moisture in this dish. Bacon will need raw smoked (it is elastic and will not break when forming kebabs). Cherry tomatoes choose sweet and small in size. Be sure to wash them under running water and put them in a colander.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Cut the Brussels sprouts in half. Drizzle with extra virgin extra virgin olive oil.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Add soy sauce to the cabbage, sprinkle with dried garlic and pepper to taste. Why do I recommend using dried garlic for frying? It's simple: it won't burn during frying in a frying pan. If required, add salt to the cabbage. But keep in mind that both soy sauce and bacon will give their salt to the finished dish. Mix the cabbage with the marinade, cover the bowl and leave at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put cabbage and tomatoes alternately on the skewer, wrapping them with bacon, as shown in the photo. In cherry tomatoes, it is better to remove the stacks, if there are any. It will be more convenient to taste the dish this way. I left a few pieces for beauty.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Heat the frying pan over high heat. Then pour a drop of extra virgin olive oil and warm it up a little. If you have a frying pan with a high-quality non-stick coating, then you can not add oil at all. Fry the skewers on one side for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Then turn over and fry the kebabs on the other side for another 2-3 minutes. In this dish, the cabbage remains slightly crispy, as it should be. If you want to get a completely boiled cabbage, blanch it in boiling water for about 5 minutes before roasting, until it becomes soft.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Serve the kebabs hot. Feeding is possible both on skewers and without them. But I prefer the first option.

Brussels sprouts are quite specific in taste. So if you're trying it for the first time, cook half a serving.

I tried to add lemon juice to the kebabs, but it is clearly superfluous here. The symbiosis of bitter, salty and sweet is good in this dish. And to my taste, it is so balanced that it does not need additions.

Bon appetit!

If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.
