Cooking method
-
Step 1:
The ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Hard-boil the eggs (about 10 minutes). Peel them and cut in half. Separate the yolks from the whites.
-
Step 3:
Make the cheese filling. Finely grate the cheese. Beat the softened butter with the yolks.
-
Step 4:
Add the sour cream (some of it can be swapped for mayonnaise), the grated cheese, and the mustard.
-
Step 5:
Beat until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. If you like, add a clove of garlic and finely chopped fresh herbs to the filling.
-
Step 6:
Spoon the filling into a piping bag and pipe it into the egg-white halves. No piping bag? Just spoon it in. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve. Enjoy!
- You'll end up with more filling than fits into the egg-white halves, but it's wonderful piped into savory tartlets or simply served on toast — very tasty and pretty!
