Meat Filling for Crepes

One of the most popular fillings for crepes. Savory, delicious meat-filled crepes are perfect for breakfast, before the workday begins. You can make both the crepes and the filling the day before, then in the morning roll the meat into a crepe and pan-fry it briefly in butter.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather your ingredients for the crepe filling. You can use any kind of ground meat — I'm using ground pork. Be generous with the onion: the more you use, the juicier the filling turns out.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Peel the onion and rinse it in cold water, then chop it finely.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Heat a skillet until hot and add a little vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, until translucent. Stir often so it doesn't burn.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Add the ground meat to the onion and mix well. Cook together for 10 to 12 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

The finished meat turns golden and wonderfully fragrant. At the end of cooking, season with a little salt and spices to taste. Let the filling cool until just warm.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Roll the filling up in the crepes and serve. Enjoy!

  • Crepes have long been a regular on our tables. They're not exactly diet food, but they're simply impossible to resist — especially meat-filled ones. Crepes with ground meat make a very tasty, filling meal. Serve them as a main course or as an extra appetizer for a holiday spread. Be sure to add a dollop of fresh sour cream to the hot crepes. When making the filling, you can add a little grated carrot and sauté it in too, or fold in some cabbage and braise it all together. Either way, a meat-based filling is sure to be tasty and satisfying — a crowd-pleaser for the whole family.
