"2017" Cake

A New Year's cake for 2017 — a joy for kids and grown-ups alike! I've remembered this recipe since I was little. First my mom made it for me; now I make it for my own kids. Very tasty and sweet!

Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. The nuts should be shelled, and the marshmallows cut in half.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Grind the cookies and nuts in a blender.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

You should get crumbs like this.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Over low heat, warm the condensed milk in an aluminum saucepan (don't let it boil), stirring so it doesn't scorch, add the softened butter, and stir well.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Add the ground cookies and nuts to this mixture. Stir everything well.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Line a suitable mold with plastic wrap to make it easier to remove our treat.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Lay the marshmallow halves in a single row across the bottom of the mold. Pour half of the nut-cookie-milk mixture over the marshmallows. Then add another row of marshmallows and again top with the mixture.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a couple of hours until set.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Dust the top with powdered sugar. You can get creative depending on the occasion. Today I've used a wintry blue glaze to match the candles, and coconut sweets that look just like snowballs. It is winter, after all.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

    It usually looks like this.
