Step 1:

Step 2:
Roll out both plates of puff pastry not very thinly into two identical rectangles. If necessary, sprinkle the work surface with flour so that the dough does not stick.
Step 3:
Prepare the filling. How to make the filling? Cut the apples into halves, peel the seeds and cut into thin slices. I didn't skin them, but you can cut them off if you want. Sprinkle the apples with brandy and mix. Cognac is also used to taste.
Step 4:
Put one layer of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Spread the apples on top, leaving 1-2 cm from the edge.
Step 5:
Sprinkle the apples with sugar. You can use cane sugar, it will give the filling an interesting caramel taste. You can also add cinnamon or vanilla.
Step 6:
Brush the free edges of the dough with beaten egg.
Step 7:
Put the second plate of dough on top and pinch the edges. In the middle of the pie, make incisions to release steam in the form of a Christmas tree.
Step 8:
Grease the cake with the remaining egg on top and sprinkle with sugar. Bake the pie in a preheated 220 ° C oven for about 25 minutes, until golden brown. Hold the finished cake for another 10 minutes in a cooling oven with the door ajar. Serve the pie in any form, it is delicious and warm, and completely cooled down. Enjoy your meal!
