Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make French-style meat with potatoes and mushrooms? Prepare all the products listed in the recipe. Which meat is better to take? Beef or pork is well suited for the recipe. Use any hard cheese.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

So, rinse the meat and dry it with paper napkins. I used pork, the neck part. Cut it not very large. Make the pieces about the same size. Put the pork in one even layer in a baking dish. Add salt to taste and sprinkle with ground black pepper.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Peel the onion and cut into thin rings or half rings. Place the rings on top of the meat.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wash the champignons, dry them and cut them into thin plates. Heat a small amount of refined vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the mushrooms, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Lay the mushrooms on top of the meat with onions in an even layer.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Peel the potatoes. Cut it into 2-3 mm plates and place the next thin layer in the mold. I couldn't fit all the potatoes, so I smeared the first layer of potatoes with a small amount of mayonnaise, lightly salted, and made another layer with potatoes on top. Add salt to taste.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Smear the potatoes with mayonnaise. Instead of mayonnaise in the recipe, you can optionally use sour cream. Then you can proceed to the next step by adding cheese and bake until ready. But in this case (depends on the oven), the potatoes do not always have time to bake, and the cheese is taken from a long baking with a hard crust and burns. Therefore, I suggest this option: send a baking dish with meat, mushrooms, potatoes, greased with mayonnaise, in the oven for 30 minutes.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then sprinkle with grated hard cheese on a coarse grater. Cut the tomatoes into thin slices and put them on top of the cheese. Send the mold back to the oven and bake until all the products are ready and the cheese is browned. It will take from 30 to 40 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Delicious French fries with meat and mushrooms are ready!

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

    Serve hot.

Instead of champignons in the recipe, you can use wild mushrooms. Use tomatoes as desired, without them it also turns out very tasty!

Bon appetit!

Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !

Instead of fresh, you can take frozen or dried mushrooms (dried ones will need 5-6 times less than fresh ones). Frozen mushrooms can be defrosted in any convenient way (for example, in the microwave in the appropriate mode - see the instructions for your technique) and drain the liquid. Or, if the amount of liquid in the recipe is not critical, use without defrosting. Dried mushrooms should be washed well, since they are not washed before drying, and then soaked in cold water for at least 2-3 hours.
