  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make Greek salad dressing at home? First prepare the ingredients for it, then the salad itself, so all that's left is to dress it and serve right away. Wash the lemon and cut it in half crosswise. Take one half, remove the seeds, and squeeze out the lemon juice however you like. You can do it by hand or with a fork, but a citrus juicer is the most convenient.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Now peel the garlic. Mince the cloves through a press. If you plan to eat the salad right away, mix the dressing in a small bowl. If you want to make just the dressing and the salad later, you can use a small jar with a lid: put the minced garlic - or rather garlic paste - in the bottom.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Then add a little salt, a pinch of pepper, and 1 teaspoon of oregano. Adjust the amount of spices to your taste.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Now pour the lemon juice you squeezed earlier into the bowl or jar.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Next, pour olive oil over the spices and lemon juice. Instead of olive oil, you can use any vegetable oil to taste. Mix all the dressing ingredients thoroughly with a fork. If you're mixing the dressing in a jar, close it with the lid and shake it several times so the ingredients are evenly distributed.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

The Greek salad dressing is ready! Dress the salad with it and serve. If you made it in a jar and aren't going to dress the salad right away, close the jar with the lid and put it in the fridge. Enjoy!

  • Before, when I made Greek salad, I always dressed it with plain olive oil with no additives. After trying the salad with this special dressing, I noticed new, interesting flavor notes. The salad turns out quite different - the vegetables are of course still vegetables, but the taste is completely different. The lemon juice and oregano especially stand out in the dressing, giving the salad a special flavor. In short, this dressing is versatile, since it works not only for dressing Greek salad but for other light vegetable salads too. I recommend everyone give it a try.
  • Since everyone's tolerance for salt, sweetness, bitterness, heat, acidity, and spice is different, always add spices and seasonings to your own taste! If you're using a seasoning for the first time, keep in mind that some are especially easy to overdo (chili pepper, for example).
