This food is familiar to us from canteens and sanatoriums. It was prepared both in schools and in hospitals. And even in restaurants. The difference was only in the presence or absence of mushrooms. Then all this disappeared simultaneously with the Soviet catering. And the culinary recipe for casserole with minced meat was undeservedly forgotten, after it had served the Soviet people for more than sixty years. Our children no longer know what it is. Therefore, we cook and nostalgic.
Cut the mushrooms into thin plates, cut the onion into cubes. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat up and fry the mushrooms in it for about 10 minutes, and then send the onion there. Mince salt, pepper and fry until tender. At the same time with all this, cook the potatoes until tender, knead it and mix it with eggs, milk and butter.
Grate hard cheese on a fine grater.
Grease a deep baking dish with oil. Put half of the mashed potatoes on the bottom and level it with a spatula. Spread the minced meat on top, and mushrooms on it. Each layer is carefully equalized. Spread the remaining mashed potatoes on top of everything, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Until a golden crust forms on top.
