The ingredients.

Boil the beans until tender, salting them at the end. You can soak the beans overnight in cold water first to speed up cooking.

Finely chop the onion and pour boiling water over it to take the edge off its bite. Let it sit until completely cool.

Cut the bell pepper into small cubes.

Dice the carrot the same way.

Then dice the ham and the pickle.

Drain the onion, then combine it with the cooked beans and the rest of the ingredients. Toss everything together, season with salt to taste, and dress with the mayonnaise.
