Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to fry potatoes with mushrooms in a frying pan? Before you start cooking, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Mushrooms can be any - seasonal forest or champignons. I will use wild mushrooms. They must be cleaned of forest debris and rinsed in water 2-3 times. Then pour in water and bring to a boil. Boil the mushrooms in boiling water for 20 minutes, then drain the hot water and rinse them again in cold.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then finely chop the peeled onion.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Heat the frying pan to a hot state and pour a little vegetable oil. To check whether the oil has warmed up well enough in a frying pan, you can do it in a simple way. Lower a wooden spatula into it. If bubbles have gathered around it, then you can start the frying process Fry the chopped onion in hot oil until transparent.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Then add the boiled mushrooms to the pan and fry all together for 5-7 minutes to evaporate all the moisture that will be from the mushrooms.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

While the mushrooms are frying, peel the potatoes and rinse them from dirt. Then cut the peeled potatoes into strips and rinse them in cold water. Then drain all the water. Why wash potatoes? This is necessary in order to wash off excess starch from it. Thanks to this, the potatoes will fall apart less when frying.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Add the sliced potatoes to the pan with the mushrooms and mix. Fry everything together for 10-15 minutes, until the potatoes are ready. During the frying process, mix all the ingredients 2-3 times with each other. Add a little salt and spices to taste.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

When the potatoes are ready, add sour cream and mix everything. The fat content of sour cream in this case does not matter. It just gives a creamy taste to the dish.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Warm everything together with sour cream for a minute and remove from heat. Place the finished dish in prepared plates and serve to the table.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

When serving, the finished dish can be sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs a little. Bon appetit!

Any oils are useful only until a certain temperature is reached - the point of smoking, at which the oil begins to burn and toxic substances, including carcinogens, are formed in it. How to determine the roasting temperature and choose the best oil for frying, and which is better not to use at all, read here .

Important! An incorrectly selected frying pan can ruin even the best recipe. All the details on how to choose the perfect frying pan for different dishes read here .

Instead of fresh, you can take frozen or dried mushrooms (dried ones will need 5-6 times less than fresh ones). Frozen mushrooms can be defrosted in any convenient way (for example, in the microwave in the appropriate mode - see the instructions for your technique) and drain the liquid. Or, if the amount of liquid in the recipe is not critical, use without defrosting. Dried mushrooms should be washed well, since they are not washed before drying, and then soaked in cold water for at least 2-3 hours.
