Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare all the necessary products that you will need to cook string beans with chicken in a cauldron over a fire. Cut the chicken into chunks, peel the onion and garlic, rinse the tomatoes, beans and greens under running water.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Light a fire and install a cauldron.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

When the cauldron is well warmed up, pour vegetable oil into it, leave for a few minutes until the oil is hot. Cut one onion in half and toss to fry, leave until a golden crust appears. Catch the fried onion with a slotted spoon.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Send the chicken to the cauldron. Keep the fire at maximum, as at this stage you need to fry the pieces until golden brown.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Cook the chicken for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring continuously. Then pour boiling water so that it half covers the pieces of meat. Cover the cauldron with a lid, make the fire moderate and cook the chicken for 30 to 50 minutes. The cooking time depends on whether you have a domestic bird or a purchased one. The meat should reach almost ready. It took me about 50 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

At this time, prepare the green beans. If she is not young, then remove the tails and antennae on both sides. Cut the pods into 2 or 3 pieces, as in the photo.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

After the specified time, check if there is a lot of liquid left in the cauldron. If yes, then add firewood, increase the fire and, stirring with a slotted spoon, evaporate the excess juice. Add finely chopped onion.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Cook for about 5 minutes, the onion should be lightly browned.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Next comes the queue of sliced tomatoes and beans.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Mix everything carefully, add salt and pepper to taste and season with your favorite spices.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Cover the cauldron with a lid and leave on a low fire until the beans are fully cooked. The cooking time depends on how young the beans are (it took me about 30 minutes). Periodically open the lid, if the beans begin to burn, then add quite a bit of boiling water. If the tomatoes are juicy, then they are quite enough for cooking without adding water.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped garlic and herbs. You can serve!

At the end of cooking, I usually remove the lid, extinguish the burning wood under the cauldron and leave it in this form for 10-15 minutes. During this time, the dish is saturated with the aroma of smoke and becomes more colorful.

Instead of chicken, you can use the meat of any bird, as well as take pork or beef.

Bon appetit!

Wash the meat, be sure to dry it with a paper towel, otherwise excessive moisture will not allow it to fry - it will stew.

Chicken can be replaced with turkey or any other type of meat at your request. But keep in mind that in this case, the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will change.

Tomatoes in this recipe can be replaced with ketchup, tomatoes in their own juice or tomato paste. Choose the proportions to your taste.
