Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
The photo shows the main ingredients that will be required to prepare the salad. Prepare all the products. First of all, peel the onion and garlic. Rinse the avocado, cherry tomatoes, lemon, herbs, onion and garlic under running water.
Step 2:
Cut the avocado in half and remove the stone. Peel it.
Step 3:
Put the avocado in a salad bowl and mash it into pieces with a fork.
Step 4:
Try to make sure that no pulp puree is formed, and pieces of different sizes remain (as in the photo).
Step 5:
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into a salad bowl (you can use lime).
Step 6:
Add a pinch of salt, ground red pepper, add allspice and chili to taste. Adjust the amount of seasonings to your liking.
Step 7:
Cut cherry tomatoes into arbitrary small pieces. Why is it better to take mini tomatoes? They taste sweet, more juicy and saturated. You can use the usual tomato fruit of sweet varieties. Cut onion and garlic into small cubes. Instead of red onions, you can take shallots or white salad onions, these varieties are great for vegetable mixes, they are softer and not very bitter. Add the cherry, onion and garlic to the avocado.
Step 8:
Chop the greens as finely as possible. You can use parsley, dill, basil or cilantro. In the recipe I took dill and parsley. Season the salad with olive oil and stir. Taste it again, add salt and add a little lemon juice, if required.
Step 9:
The salad is ready!
The salad can be served immediately, or cool it for a while in the refrigerator.
I often make such a mix for breakfast, only in this case I exclude onions and garlic. Serve the salad on toasted toast bread, or with slices of fresh loaf, it will be a great addition to a morning cup of coffee or tea.
Avocado and cherry are perfectly combined with fish and rice, so this salad can be safely offered if you have fish dishes or boiled cereals on the menu.
Bon appetit!
