Layered Salad with Beef, Cheese, and Eggs
A salad to win any man over! No surprise there—it's meaty, hearty, and delicious. I once surprised my husband by throwing together this new "man's dream" salad. I'd found the recipe in a popular magazine. The name caught my eye first, but once I made it, I was sold on how filling and tasty it was—and honestly not that hard to put together. So here's how I make it.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
The ingredients: beef, eggs, cheese, onion, mayonnaise, salt, vinegar, and herbs for garnish.
-
Step 2:
First, slice the onion into rings and marinate it in water with the vinegar for about an hour—less is fine, to taste.
-
Step 3:
Grate the cheese, slice the eggs, and cut the beef into thin strips.
-
Step 4:
Boil the beef and eggs, then let them cool.
-
Step 5:
Drain the marinated onion.
-
Step 6:
First layer: spread the beef and top with mayonnaise.
-
Step 7:
Second layer: spread the onion and top with mayonnaise.
-
Step 8:
Third layer: arrange the eggs and top with mayonnaise, then finish with the grated cheese.
-
Step 9:
Garnish with black olives and dill, and enjoy!
- Start by boiling the beef and eggs. While they cook, marinate the onion: dissolve the vinegar in water and let the sliced onion sit for an hour or two. Once the meat is cooked and cooled, cut it into flat slices and spread it over the whole surface of a platter. Top with mayonnaise and add a second layer of onion sliced into rings. Spread with mayonnaise again, then add the next layer of eggs cut into flat slices. Coat the eggs with mayonnaise too and sprinkle with grated cheese. Garnish the salad with black olives and dill sprigs. And that's it—the salad is ready to serve. I'm sure you and your guests will love this one; it may just become a new favorite.
