French-Style Baked Potatoes and Pork
An original idea for a great lunch or dinner. About two weeks ago, my husband's grandmother sent us two pork legs from the village. We made all sorts of things with them: cured fatback, fried meat, goulash, and aspic. But we had one small 300-gram piece left over, not enough to do anything special with. I thought it over and decided to make "potatoes French-style" — a layered baked casserole. Here's the recipe.
Cooking method

Step 1:
The ingredients
-
Step 2:
Slice the onion into half-rings
-
Step 3:
Cut the meat into pieces
-
Step 4:
Start by greasing a suitable baking dish with oil. Lay the pork, cut into thin slices, across the bottom of the dish, then lightly salt and pepper it to taste.
-
Step 5:
Then add a layer of sliced onion rings,
-
Step 6:
and top with potatoes cut into thin rounds.
-
Step 7:
Spread mayonnaise over everything, distributing it evenly with a spoon.
-
Step 8:
Then grate the hard cheese on a medium grater and sprinkle it in an even layer over the whole surface.
-
Step 9:
Put the dish in an oven preheated to 400°F (200°C) for about an hour. When the time is up, take it out and serve. Enjoy!
