Cooking method
- Put the rinsed soup bones in a pot of water and cook the broth. Cut the potatoes into cubes and shred the cabbage, then add them to the broth. For the dressing, coarsely grate the beet and carrot. Fry the grated vegetables in hot oil and let them simmer for 6–7 minutes. Add the tomato paste and vinegar, stir, and simmer another 5 minutes. Add the finished dressing to the boiling broth. Cut the onion into half-rings, fry it in hot oil, then stir in the flour and mix well. Add the onion to the soup and stir. Add a bay leaf, pepper, and minced garlic to the boiling broth. Cook the soup for 6–7 minutes. Take the pot off the heat and cover it with a lid. Serve the borscht with mayonnaise or sour cream. If you did everything right, consider a wedding not far off.
