It's fairly simple to make, though you do need to follow the method and the guidelines carefully. Tomato soup recipes are so varied that everyone will find a favorite way to make it. Traditionally you need quite a lot of tomatoes, but in winter they can be replaced with tomato paste. Some recipes suggest combining these two products. Potatoes, bell peppers, beans, mushrooms, rice, herbs, meat products and seafood are usually added.
The five most commonly used ingredients in these recipes:
| Product | Calories per 100g | Protein g per 100g | Fats g per 100g | Carbohydrates g per 100g |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carrots | 33 | 1.3 | 0.1 | 6.9 |
| Tomatoes | 23 | 1.1 | 0.2 | 3.8 |
| Potatoes | 80 | 2 | 0.4 | 18.1 |
| Onion | 41 | 1.4 | 0 | 10.4 |
| Tomato paste | 28 | 5.6 | 1.5 | 16.7 |
The soup is served hot or cold, depending on its flavor and the broth. If you like, you can add mayonnaise, sour cream or cream to it. What the different cooking methods have in common is that they use a lot of spices and seasonings. These aromatic dishes turn up often in Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine. For those who don't like spicy food, you can cook it by the same method but leave out the seasonings or use less of them. The taste won't suffer in the least, and everyone at home is sure to love it.
