    To make the rich cabbage soup, pour 2 liters (about 8 cups) of cold water into a suitable pot. Add 600 g (about 1.3 lb) of bone-in lamb cut into pieces and a chunk of onion, cover the pot, set it on the stove, and bring to a boil over high heat.

    Finely chop one onion and add it to a skillet set over high heat with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Stir and sauté until translucent.
