Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients. To cook stewed potatoes with meat in a frying pan, we will need: potatoes, carrots, beef or pork pulp (I have a lumpy pork schnitzel), tomato paste, bay leaves, vegetable oil for frying, ground black pepper and salt.
Step 2:
Wash pork (beef), cut into small pieces.
Step 3:
Peel and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Step 4:
Peel potatoes and cut into large cubes.
Step 5:
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry pork (beef) over medium heat about 8 minutes before the appearance of a golden crust.
Step 6:
Add carrots to the meat. Fry together, stirring, for 2-3 minutes.
Step 7:
Add tomato paste to the pan. Stir and warm up for 1-2 minutes.
Step 8:
Put the potatoes in the pan. Mix it with meat and carrots. Add salt and pepper.
Step 9:
Pour hot water or broth into the pan so that the liquid almost completely covers the meat and vegetables. Add bay leaves.
Step 10:
Simmer potatoes with meat on medium heat under a lid for about 45 minutes until the vegetables are ready. The water can boil almost completely, I have a little sauce left after the specified time.
Step 11:
Stewed meat with vegetables is ready. Serve the dish hot. Bon appetit!
We have known this dish since childhood. It was prepared by our mothers and grandmothers. Meat is soaked in the aroma of vegetables, and vegetables are soaked in meat juice. The result is a delicious, flavorful and easy-to-prepare dish that can be served to the table on weekdays and weekends.
In addition to pork, you can use beef pulp, as well as chicken or turkey.
Ready-made potatoes with meat can be sprinkled with chopped herbs - parsley, dill or coriander, if you want to give the dish an oriental flavor.
It is better to choose potatoes for stewing with a lower starch content (it usually has a yellow pulp), then it will not fall apart during cooking and will retain its shape.
