Cooking method
- Into finished mashed potatoes (no need to explain how to make those) add the flour, beat in the egg, season with salt, and knead into a dough. Stew the cabbage as you normally would, adding the ingredients as you go — so the cabbage stews together with the carrot, onion, bell pepper, and tomato paste. Salt the cabbage while it cooks, then add ground pepper to taste. Now roll out the potato dough on the counter and cut out circles with a glass. Put a spoonful of the cabbage filling on each circle, top with a second circle, and pinch the edges closed. You can leave the zrazy round or shape them into ovals like classic hand pies. Then simply fry the zrazy in vegetable oil in a skillet. Serve with sour cream or gravy.
