Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake chicken in mayonnaise with onions and potatoes in the oven? Prepare the products. You can take any parts from the chicken. I'm going to cook chicken drumsticks. If they are frozen, then pre-defrost them.
Step 2:
Peel the potatoes and rinse well from dirt in running water. Cut the peeled potatoes into large pieces.
Step 3:
Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Finely chop the peeled onion.
Step 4:
Add a little salt and spices to the mayonnaise. When adding salt, keep in mind that mayonnaise already contains it in the composition. As a spice, you can use a ground mixture of peppers and dried herbs, for example, dill, parsley. You can add a little crushed garlic. Or add something to your liking. In the resulting mayonnaise mixture, roll the chicken and potatoes. Make sure that all the pieces are evenly covered with sauce.
Step 5:
Grease the baking dish a little with vegetable oil. Put the chopped onion on the bottom, spread the chicken on top. Evenly distribute the potatoes between the chicken pieces. Cover the mold with a sheet of foil. Put the dish in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil sheet and leave the mold in the oven for another 20 minutes to brown the dish. Be guided by your oven.
Step 6:
The baking dish can be ceramic, glass or metal. Remove the finished chicken and potatoes from the oven and place them on plates. Serve the dish hot. When serving, you can sprinkle it with fresh herbs a little. Bon appetit!
Keep in mind that the quality and taste of the finished dish largely depends on the proper defrosting of the ingredients. How to avoid mistakes and choose the best way, read the article about defrosting.
It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting
recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
