Cooking method

Cooking time: 5 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make tartlets with cream cheese and salmon? Gather the ingredients. Use ready-made tartlet shells, but if you like, you can bake them yourself. My fish is already sliced. Use plain cream cheese with no additives. For herbs, dill works best in my opinion.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Wash the herbs thoroughly under cool running water, then dry them with a paper towel. Chop finely.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

If your fish is in one whole piece, cut it into thin slices. We'll need 50 grams. Cut the slices into strips, then chop into small cubes - the smaller, the tastier.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Put the cream cheese in a bowl and add the chopped dill and chopped fish. Mix thoroughly. If you see the mixture is very thick, add a little heavy cream, or it'll be hard to work with.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Transfer the cheese mixture into a piping bag.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Pipe the cream cheese into the tartlet shells using the piping bag. You can do this with a spoon, but it comes out prettier from the bag. Fill all the tartlets this way.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Cut the remaining fish into long thin strips. Roll each strip into a spiral to make a rose for decoration. Set a fish rose in the center of each tartlet.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Make a little leaf for each rose from a parsley leaf or a sprig of dill. The appetizer is ready! Serve it right away, or the tartlets will get soggy. Enjoy!

  • A very pretty and tasty dish! It comes together in no time and makes quite a few servings, considering how little fish it uses. I had to add cream to the cheese - the mixture turned out thick and wouldn't pipe out of the bag. You can simplify it even further: put plain cheese in the tartlets and lay the fish on top. You can add grated garlic to the cheese. Instead of cream cheese, you can also use a soft cheese spread or processed cheese. Or use avocado mashed into a smooth purée in place of the cheese. Fresh cucumber, lemon slices, and red caviar also work as garnishes.
