Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare all the necessary products. Apples of sour varieties with a thick peel are suitable for apple pies. It's great if you find Antonovka or Bogatyr. I have last year's Antonovka, which is perfectly preserved.
Step 2:
First we will make caramel apples. Cut one apple into slices about 5 mm thick.
Step 3:
In a non-stick frying pan, melt the butter.
Step 4:
Lay out the apple slices and cook over medium heat until golden first on one side. About 5-7 minutes. Then carefully turn each slice over. Fry for another 5 minutes.
Step 5:
Sprinkle the apples with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Turn down the heat, wait for the sugar to dissolve.
Step 6:
Turn the pan over so that each slice is covered with caramel. The apples will become almost transparent, but at the same time they will keep their shape perfectly.
Step 7:
In a mixing bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and salt. Whisk. It is best to use a whisk for this purpose, the mixer will not work.
Step 8:
Pour in the remaining sugar and whisk again. If you like spicy pastries, now is the time to add fragrant spices to the pie. Cinnamon, vanilla, cloves and nutmeg are perfect.
Step 9:
Sift the flour. I recommend not to neglect this process. Thanks to sifting, the finished pastry turns out to be more lush and airy.
Step 10:
Mix everything well. As you can see, the dough turns out to be quite liquid.
Step 11:
Also cut the remaining apples into thin slices. The peel can not be cleaned.
Step 12:
Put an apple in the dough and mix everything well.
Step 13:
Prepare a heat-resistant mold. If you have a non-stick or silicone mold, you do not need to lubricate it with oil. If the form is ordinary, lubricate it with any vegetable oil.
Step 14:
Place the caramel apples nicely on top. In order for the top of the apples not to burn, in the first 20 minutes of baking, cover the top of the pie with foil. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 40 minutes.
Step 15:
Cool the cake a little and serve it to the table. Bon appetit!
