Chopped Beef Steak with a Fried Egg
A classic chopped beef steak, served with a fried egg. I'd never made beef steaks before. Last year I got the hang of chopped chicken patties and loved them, and now it was beef's turn. Topped with an egg, it came out both beautiful and delicious!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make a chopped beef steak with a fried egg? Gather your ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Press the garlic through a garlic press.
-
Step 3:
Rinse and pat the beef dry. Cut the meat into thin slices, then cut each slice into thin strips, and cut the strips crosswise into small cubes. Chop the cubes as finely as you can.

Step 4:
Cut the strips crosswise into small cubes.
-
Step 5:
Chop the cubes as finely as you can.
-
Step 6:
Add the garlic and spices to the meat. Knead the mixture well by hand — you can slap it against the counter to help it bind.
-
Step 7:
With oiled palms, shape the mixture into 2 large round patties.
-
Step 8:
Heat the remaining sunflower oil in a pan and fry the steaks for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden.
-
Step 9:
Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and put them in an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) for 7 minutes. Keep in mind that every oven is different, so the temperature and time may vary from what's given here.
-
Step 10:
Fry a sunny-side-up egg separately and set one neatly on top of each steak. Enjoy!
- Every oil is good only up to a certain temperature — its smoke point — beyond which it starts to burn and form harmful compounds. Choose an oil with a suitable smoke point for frying.
