Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h 35 min

1. In warm water, dissolve the salt. Take the amount of salt according to your taste. If tortillas are served instead of bread for lunch or dinner, then you can put more salt. If they will be eaten as a sweet pastry or dessert, then you need to put a little salt.

2. Sift the wheat flour through a sieve into a large bowl. Make a small depression in the middle of the flour slide and drive a chicken egg into it. Then pour in vegetable oil, salted warm water and mix well. Knead elastic dough with your hands, which will not stick to your hands. Roll it into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap so that it does not dry out. You can lubricate with vegetable oil. Leave the dough alone for 20-30 minutes.

3. After the dough has lain down at rest, unwrap the food film from it and knead, adding a little flour, if necessary. Then roll out the dough into a large circle with a thickness of no more than 1-2 mm. The thinner the dough is, the tastier the cakes will turn out.

Melt margarine in the microwave and grease the entire surface of the rolled dough with it. Then, taking hold of the edge with your hands, gently roll the dough into a roll, as tightly as possible. Cut the resulting roll into pieces 5-6 cm wide . Press down each piece with your hand, making it flatter and more like a tortilla.

4. Put all the resulting tortillas on a large dish, cover with cling film and place in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

5. Sprinkle the board or kitchen table with flour. Remove the blanks from the freezer and roll them into thin round cakes with a diameter approximately equal to the frying pan.

6. Pour vegetable oil into a non-stick frying pan and heat it over medium heat. Then put the rolled tortilla in a frying pan and cover with a lid. Fry the tortilla first on one side for about 3-4 minutes, then turn it over on the other side and also fry until golden brown. So, in turn, fry all the tortillas and put them on a dish.

Sprinkle ready-made Uzbek tortillas with sugar if desired and serve on the table with hot fragrant tea!

Bon appetit!
