Step 1:
How to bake pollock fish in pita bread in the oven? Prepare the necessary products. I used 2 sheets of thin Armenian lavash. Fillet of any fish will do. Divide the fillet into two parts. Choose spices and seasonings according to taste and desire.
Step 2:
If the pollock fillet is frozen, defrost it in advance in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Wash the fillets, dry them well. Salt the fillet on both sides, sprinkle with spices and seasonings to taste. I used dried basil. Sprinkle the fillets with lemon juice and leave to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3:
In a small bowl, combine sour cream and mayonnaise, mix. The proportions of sour cream and mayonnaise can be changed according to your taste preferences.
Step 4:
Wash and dry the tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes into medium-thick slices.
Step 5:
Pre-peeled onion cut into rings.
Step 6:
On the bottom edge of the pita bread sheet, lay the onion rings a little overlap.
Step 7:
Place a piece of fish fillet on top of the onion. Brush the fillet with a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise.
Step 8:
Cover the pollock fillet with tomato slices.
Step 9:
Wrap the filling in pita bread, giving it the shape of an envelope. Similarly, form a second envelope with fish filling.
Step 10:
Brush the bottom of the mold lightly with vegetable oil. Put the prepared lavash envelopes into the mold. Top them with the remaining mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise.
Step 11:
Bake the fish in pita bread in a preheated 180C oven for about 30 minutes. For the first 20 minutes, cover the fish in the pita bread with foil on top so that the top does not turn too red. Then remove the foil and cook until golden brown. The cooking time may vary, as it depends on the specifics of the oven.
Step 12:
Fish baked in lavash can be served both hot and cold. Enjoy your meal!
How to choose the right pita bread? First of all, look at the date of manufacture on the package. Do not take expired pastries. Fresh pita bread should have a pleasant smell. Take a good look so that there are no stains and signs of mold on it.
So that the oven has time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking).
