Original dish of dumplings with cheese crust. Dumplings can not just cook, but also cook them in the form of a casserole with sour cream filling and cheese. We don't even defrost them beforehand. According to this recipe, the dumplings are delicious, with a juicy filling.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 45 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Peel the onion and cut it into thin half rings.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Sour cream (we take fat - from 20%) is mixed with ground black pepper or a mixture of ground peppers (black, red and white) in a small bowl.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the pan and let it warm up a little. Spread the onion and simmer it over moderate heat for 5 minutes - it should become transparent and not too fried.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Preheat the oven to a temperature of 160 degrees. We put a baking dish in it for 10 minutes so that it warms up. Lubricate the mold with vegetable oil. If we warm up the mold in advance, then the dumplings will not stick to the bottom and to the sides. We spread the frozen dumplings in one layer. Dumplings can be taken of any size: large, medium or small. I have big ones. Sprinkle the dumplings with salt to taste on top. Choose dumplings with thin dough and good minced meat.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Spread the fried onion evenly on the dumplings.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Apply sour cream filling on top. We send the dumplings to the oven and bake for 30 minutes at a temperature of 160 degrees.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Take the mold out of the oven, sprinkle the dumplings with cheese and bake for another 10 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

As soon as the cheese melts, the dish is ready to serve. If you immediately sprinkle the dumplings with cheese, you will get a stable ruddy cheese crust, but I like it more when the cheese is slightly melted. Do it at your discretion. Dumplings for the recipe can be taken homemade from the freezer. The finished dish is cut into portions and served to the table.

This dish is definitely tastier fresh. It can be served for lunch. The cooking technology is not complicated, so there will be no problems, the main thing is to follow the recipe and simple instructions. Dumplings turn out juicy, thanks to sour cream filling. And another important point is to use natural and real sour cream, not sour cream product. You can also have a homemade one. I decorated the finished dish with chopped green onions when serving. Bon appetit!
