- Making honeysuckle compote is very easy! So let's get started: Rinse the honeysuckle berries and pick off the stems. Let them dry. Meanwhile, make the sugar syrup. Take a pot, add the sugar, and pour in the water. Set it on the stove and stir until the sugar fully dissolves in the water. Once the water boils, start timing and cook for about 10 more minutes. By then the honeysuckle berries will be completely ready. Put them in a jar and pour the hot sugar syrup over them. After that, you can seal the jar with a lid and pasteurize it in hot water at about 80°C (175°F). The honeysuckle compote is ready. Just like I promised, a very simple recipe. Enjoy!
