Composition / ingredients
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
We will need well-known and dear to us: chicken breast, apples, cheese, salt, sugar and vegetable oil. And not a lot of exotic, but also familiar spices (ground): white pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger. And cream and flour.
Step 2:
Chicken breasts are cleaned from the remnants of cartilage fat. Then wash and dry with paper towels.
Step 3:
Now they need to be cut lengthwise into thin pieces and add salt.
Step 4:
Apples, of course we will wash. And then peel the skin from them and cut into quarters, take out the middle with the bones. And although this does NOT APPLY to the recipe, but personally I throw the peel into the teapot and pour boiling water and it turns out a compote.
Step 5:
Fully peeled apples are cut into thin slices. Take a closer look at the photo -I cut as thick as a finger.
Step 6:
Now back to the breasts. On a greased frying pan, spread in one layer about 1/2 pieces.I'm used to cooking on my favorite old cast-iron frying pan, but you can in any relatively deep dish that you can put in the oven. Yes... and I have refined sunflower oil .
Step 7:
Then spread the apples on the chicken, distributing them evenly. We use about 1/2 of all apples for this. And sprinkle with sugar sand.
Step 8:
And again a layer of chicken breast slices. We put them on our layer of apples. Try to distribute evenly.
Step 9:
And now another layer of apples. As a result, we have two layers of chicken alternating with two layers of apples in the pan. With that, the last layer of apples turns out to be on top.And again sprinkle a little sugar. And closing with a lid or plate, so that the apples do not get caught, we will set aside.
Step 10:
Now it's the turn of the cream filling: mix the cream with flour. Mix well - until smooth.I did it with a whisk. The volume is too small for the mixer.
Step 11:
Now add all the necessary spices to this mixture: white pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger plus salt and granulated sugar.
Step 12:
Mix everything well by whipping with a whisk. This is our creamy filling.
Step 13:
And now back to our frying pan with layers of chicken and apples. And we fill the apples evenly, they are on top of us, with our creamy filling
Step 14:
Now is the time to turn on the oven ..... and while it is heating up, we take the cheese and put it on a medium or large grater.
Step 15:
Then sprinkle grated cheese on top of everything we have in the pan. Cheese is the last layer. And we send the frying pan (without a lid) to the preheated oven.In the oven 180 degrees and we cook for 50 minutes....but!!! everyone remembers that the time depends on YOUR oven.
Step 16:
EVERYTHING!!! Our chicken with apples in cream is ready! Bon appetit to everyone! And believe me, it's not difficult and not long. BUT delicious!!!
At the very end, you can raise the temperature so that the cheese is covered with a golden crust on top.And another thing: after you take the frying pan out of the oven, you will see that there is a little liquid on the bottom. She stood out from the apples. It can be drained. But I leave it and use it when warming up (the next day) in the microwave.
